The song that began Matt's songwriting career was called, "Bridges." Through a mutual friend (Brandon Bulter) who was a game mediator for the NASCAR Inside Line Game 2012. Brandon requested Eutechnyx to listen to Matt's first published and recorded song, "Bridges." The song is based on the Prodigal son's dilemma in the Bible. Struggling with Matt's own hurts and unresolved personal past pain, the song speaks to the journey of mending bridges that had been burned. Matt was attending Alfred State College, in upstate New York at the time. When the song was released on the Xbox, Wii, and Playstation game, Alfred State College Digital Media Arts Facility approached Matt to release a video based on the song. Jeremy "Speed" Schwartz, producers of "Robot Chicken" on Cartoon Network, oversaw the 5 students that produced the official video for Bridges. The video debut and Matt's then band, Transparent, performed the song for the student union. The NASCAR Inside Line Game 2012, went to sell over 100 thousand copies worldwide. Bridges was selected to be the Main Feature song on the game. When you start the game, Bridges is the first song you will hear. Other bands featured on the game were Hailestorm; Simple Plan; Switchfoot; Staind; and Uncle Kracker.
